UniSA, Adelaide University, Flinders University, TAFE and WEA offer many business topics and a wide range of short and long business and marketing courses.


Young and innovative entrepreneurs with a business idea can improve their skills and confidence through the Business SA South Australian Young Entrepreneurs Scheme.

A new approach to the way government provides services to business is through the Entrepreneurs’ Infrastructure Program. Business Evaluations are currently available where an assessment is conducted at a business’ premises resulting in a report and recommendations for the business to make improvements, as well as Business Growth Grants where small co-funded grants can assist businesses with implementing improvements recommended by their business evaluation.

Business Rights and Obligations

The ACCC offers a free online education program designed to help small businesses learn more about their rights and obligations under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

Safework SA is the state government agency responsible for administering South Australia Work, Health & Safety Act and industrial relations laws. As an employer, you are legally obliged to protect the health, safety and welfare of your workers and other people who could be adversely affected by work carried out by your business under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (the OHSW Act).  For more information call 1300 365 255.

Export Businesses

The Department of State Development provides funding assistance for small and medium-sized businesses to access new global markets through marketing and export development opportunities through the Export Partnership Program.  

For businesses with export potential, Austrade provides information, grants and advice to assist Australian companies reduce the time, cost and risk of exporting.
