City of Adelaide has three libraries based throughout the City and North Adelaide. Find out about each library’s location opening hours and how you can engage with Adelaide City Libraries.
24 hour return chutes are available for returns at each library location and at Adelaide South West Community Centre.
City Library
Monday / Tuesday / Thursday: 10.00 am – 6.00 pm
Wednesday: 10am – 7pm
Friday: 10am – 8pm
Saturday: 10am – 5pm
Sunday: 12pm – 5pm
Public Holidays Closed
(Off Rundle Mall or via Da Costa Arcade)
Alternate Entrance: Rundle Place car park lifts to Level 6.
(Enter Rundle Place off Rundle Mall/ Grenfell St/ Francis St and walk to the car park lift corridor alongside the Crabtree & Evelyn store. Take the lift to Level 6, turn right and follow the signs to the City Library.)

Accessibility
Adelaide City Libraries Access Guides
The Adelaide City Libraries staff have been working with City of Adelaide Access and Inclusion Advisory Panel (AIAP) to ensure that the library is a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone to enjoy. The AIAP is made up of 12 people with experience of disability.
These library access guides are one of the outcomes of this work.

Taxi Ranks
Taxi ranks are located at the eastern end of Rundle Mall on Pulteney Street (opposite Hungry Jacks 42/91 Pulteney Street) and on the southern side of Grenfell Street towards King William Street (77 Grenfell Street).

The following Adelaide Metro bus stops are located close to the City Library:
F4 and G2 Northern side of Grenfell Street
T3 and T2 Southern side of Grenfell Street
X1 and Y1 Rundle Mall side of Pulteney Street
B1 and B2 on opposite side of road
X2 and C2 King William Street

Train
Distance from the City Library: 650 m
The Adelaide Railway Station, located on North Terrace next to Parliament House, is the central station for all Adelaide metropolitan trains. Train timetables can be found on the

Tram
Distance from the City Library: 280 m
The closest tram stop is located near Rundle Mall’s western entrance. Tram journeys are free between South Terrace along King William Street, North Terrace and the Entertainment Centre on Port Road.
