Creating a City of Opportunity

Established in 1840, the City of Adelaide (CoA) is the oldest municipal authority in Australia and is responsible for the delivery of efficient and effective local government services to residents, businesses and visitors to the city. Surrounded by over 700 hectares of Park Lands and covering an area of approximately 16 square kilometres, the city is home to around 23,000 residents and 311,000 daily city users. As well as delivering a range of municipal services, the City of Adelaide owns and operates a number of facilities and businesses, including: 

The City of Adelaide has a vision for Adelaide to be a welcoming and dynamic city full of rich and diverse experiences. To realise this vision, the council has developed the City of Adelaide 2016-2020 Strategic Plan framed around four key themes: Smart, Green, Liveable and Creative. These broad themes underpins the priorities, policies, strategies, projects and services that will be designed and delivered to meet the needs of the community.
