Council Members Gifts and Benefits Register

Legislation introducing a Code of Conduct for Council Members commenced on 1 September 2013. The Code has been made by the Local Government (General) Variation Regulation 2013 and gazetted in the Government Gazette on 22 August 2013.

The Code of Conduct requires that gifts and benefits received by Council Members be recorded on a register, which is publically available at Council’s Customer Centre and on Council’s website.

For the purposes of section 3.10 of the Code of Conduct, the threshold amount governing when a gift or benefit must be registered has been gazetted at $100.00.

The Council Members Gifts and Benefit Register found below will be updated on a quarterly basis, e.g. March, June, September and December.

Employee Gifts and Benefits Register

The mandatory Code of Council for Council Employees requires that employees are not to accept gifts or benefits that may influence, or could be reasonably taken to create a sense of obligation for the employee in carrying out their duties.  The City of Adelaide has additionally adopted guidelines for employees to further expand on these requirements and expectations.

Any Council employee who receives a gift or benefit over the amount of $50 is required to record within the Gifts and Benefits Register, which is made publicly available at the Council Office and updated quarterly on this webpage.
